Are you living in the spirit of opulence?
by Holly LanesmithI just finished speaking at an event late last week, put on by a good friend and colleague of mine, Misael Diaz.
Misael did an excellent job organizing a small, intimate, exclusive event with less than a couple dozen people present. He based the event around the idea of the spirit of opulence. Here is a photo of Misael and myself from the weekend.
Let me just encourage you to do one thing really quick before you finish reading this.
Just grab a piece of paper or make a note on your phone to check out an essay written by Thomas Troward, titled, The Spirit of Opulence.
I actually taught on this particular piece of writing during the event. It’s an essay that is near and dear to my heart, and one that I have grown with for many years.
Every time I read it, and even more so every time I teach it, I have new revelations and aha moments about how this relates to my life, and how I can help other people see its relation to their lives as well.
If you’ve ever been part of my teachings on the spirit of opulence, you’ll know that I teach the code to operating this way in your life – the code to living in the spirit of opulence.
There’s one main point about this code that I want to highlight, and it is this: the spirit of opulence is first and foremost all about giving over receiving.
You know, our universe operates by circulation. Think about weather patterns. When rain falls, it collects and then evaporates back into the sky. And it repeats this process over and over again.
You can also see the process of circulation at work in your physical body— in the circulation of blood flow from your heart to all parts of your body and back again.
If you think about it, the same is true for the laws of giving and receiving. There is a circulation of resources— monetary and otherwise— coming to and from each person on this planet.
It’s a very natural process. But here’s the thing: so many people squelch the flow by either not being open to the process of giving, or even, (and this might surprise you), not being open to receiving.
But truthfully, both directional flows in your life must be open in order to experience and live in the spirit of opulence.
Anyways, I wanted to share this with you because it’s been on my mind over the past few days after teaching it to this wonderful group of individuals at Misael’s incredible event.
I also just want to add how blessed I am to work with people like Misael and to have the chance to share such powerful teachings with people who truly care about becoming the best version of themselves, and people who want to go out and make a greater impact on others.
I’m honored to get to work with people who are open, kind, and loving, and who are truly generous beyond measure.
Just to give you an example, Misael went above and beyond in everything that he did to prepare for my arrival at the event and to provide us with the best experience, start to finish.
It’s a display of generosity on his part, exemplifying how he himself operates within the spirit of opulence, and how he truly walks the talk.
Let me just say, if you ever have the opportunity to work with people like Misael, or of that caliber, who are truly focused so much more on the giving than the receiving, count your blessings and don’t let go of the opportunities they share with you.
Let those opportunities serve as reminders to check where your heart is at in this universal flowing of resources, to and from each one of us.
Are you erring on the side of giving, or the side of receiving? Or are you experiencing an even balance between the two?
Remember, one side can’t be weighted more than the other. Otherwise, it’s simply out of harmony with this mode of operating.
So, take a self-inventory and see where you land as it relates to living in the spirit of opulence.
