Do you need to borrow my belief?
by Holly LanesmithAs a high-performance coach and mentor, something that I’ve cultivated over the years is the ability to see beyond a person’s conditions and circumstances.
Instead, I’m able to see individuals for who they really are: fully resourced beings, gifted with infinite potential by their creator.
…And with that, one thing I firmly believe is that potential should not be wasted.
I believe that by giving people (who have a dream – which is all of us) an easy way out, or letting them skip out on paying their price for their dream, only cheats them of their journey and makes agreement with the limitations they’ve been telling themselves up to that point.
In other words, if someone has a dream but doesn’t make sacrifices and difficult decisions that are in alignment with that dream, it reinforces a mindset of limitation, sabotaging them of their dream.
Turning our dreams into reality is possible, but it requires effort, faith, and a change of mindset.
And it starts with our belief in ourselves. The only problem is, it can be difficult for us to see the truth of our potential and our giftedness.
But how powerful is it to have someone who can do this for you when you can’t even see it for yourself?
When you have someone in your life who recognizes your potential and the truth of who and whose you are, you eventually start to borrow their belief in you, and it becomes your own.
Think about it. The more immersed you stay in that type of environment, the more you will start to believe in yourself and live from that place of truth, rather than operating from a place of struggle.
Eventually, you start to see yourself through the lens they see you.
Trust me. I’m speaking from personal experience. I remember back when I had to borrow my first mentor, Patrick Hayes’ belief in me. Patrick invested in me. He believed in me. And eventually, with time and effort, I believed in myself too.
The same can happen for you. And I’m so excited to talk more about this on Saturday as I continue our discussion through the Fully Resourced series.
Please join me this Saturday (on Facebook LIVE) at 9:30am (ET) to learn about how you can begin operating from a place of truth and begin living out your fully resourced potential.
