In his classic work, Think & Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill teaches that we as human beings have 6 basic fears:
-The fear of poverty
- The fear of criticism
-The fear of ill health
-The fear of loss of love
-The fear of old age
-The fear of death
Now for each of us, some of these fears will be more prevalent than others, depending on one's stage of life and current circumstances. But needless to say, fear plays a role in the life of every single person on this planet.
The question is, what role are you going to allow it to play in your life?
Napoleon Hill teaches that, “Every human being has the ability to completely control his own mind.”
There’s a process one must follow to learn how to do this. And you see, once you have mastered this, even when fear starts to present itself or starts to surface in your life, you have the resources and tools to quiet that voice of fear, and to move forward in spite of it.
Fear doesn’t just go away. Fear is a form of energy, and one thing about energy is that it is never created or destroyed.
However, it can be transmuted into something more powerful, into something more useful, and into something that will help you move forward from where you are to where you want to go.
What are the fears that have a hold on your life?
Napoleon Hill also says, “Before we can master an enemy, we must know its name, its habits, and its place of abode.”
So, that’s the first step. Take a self-inventory of where you see fear holding its control over you.
